Well done all last night, we havent downed the bad boy yet, but I think the trail of destruction we left will have given the Balrog food for thought.
I must admit, I am a little disappointed in just how easy it was. The groups general awesomeness aside, I think perhaps we should have tried that at level 49.
What are peoples thoughts for attempting future runs to the place?
I think these are perhaps our options.
1. Complete the Rift in one night. Given we started a little bit late and we had a few pitstops along the way. We could perhaps have an expected 3 hour session.
2. Complete the Rift over two nights. Do all the bosses before Balrog one night, Complete Rift another. So likely Thurs/Sunday or Monday/Wednesday.
3. Get someone with Balrog Raidlocks to open the raid for us. Perhaps Sig, myself and anyone else free one night clears the bosses pre-Balrog with higher level chars, then on Wednesday we attempt Balrog.
I know we are going to get a mixture of replies, but it would be good to get some feedback and perhaps those that never made Wednesday would like to see Turtles in the Rift (Gil/Bera) Im also thinking its not a good idea for people to be missing training just to join us Wednesdays. 8)

Basing the Slowtro calendar around one person's schedule and needs also isn't a great idea :)
My thoughts for Turtle Rift adventure would agree with option 3. As far as the project's narrative goes, we've already helped the Fire Giants and slain the leader of the Orcs. The next run should be a conclusion to that story.
Over the next couple of weeks if we return I would lean towards option 2. Bringing alts, relaxing and trying out tactics would be preferable once we're comfortable with the content.
Were the gear more useful I would advocate for single-night clears to ensure maximum loot each week. As it is, we're only there for rare, cosmetic or gimmicky items.

Wanted to touch ground on this + difficulty:
The -5 levels main boss rule is probably the way to go when attempting T1 encounters so I fundamentally agree. This will allow us to have some challenge but still be able to use our support skills (removal, debuff are best examples). It gives meaning to bringing along classes that excel in those areas.
The downside of this (which is why I suggested Raiding to be done on-level) is the 'LEWT'. We are already in a position where every single Instance (T1) we do will have drops that will be more or less irrelevant to us. On one hand they are +1/2/3 level 'above-us-items' and on the other we will likely have more powerful items from questing ahead...
So I suggest we keep raiding as close to the intended level as possible (to at least have a chance to see/use something we believe will be a useful upgrade in the near future). While I do not think Moria will satisfy us in this regard (T1 only), starting from Mirkwood, Tier 2 will open up (along with regular wipes :D).

Patch took a good while... now the crashes :S
