Last night there was some discussion on Fellowship Manoeuvres and this is something that I've never really encountered before (given that in my previous forays into the game I've pretty-much played solo).
When the Wheel of Fun appears, I tend to just hit a random button (generally red as I'm assuming that means damage), but I have no idea what I'm doing.
Can anybody give a quick 'FM101' tutorial, or point me in the direction of a good guide?
Specific questions I have:
How are they trigged?
What should I press?
Do people have to select their move in order, or can one just hit it as soon as it appears?
Wings of the Windlord is the best as you gain an ally for a short time.
Generally we would decide a pattern, assign players to a number and then take it from there.
The problem I see is... we are not very organised. People are often off hitting other targets or out of range or healing or whatever.
For normal landscape mobs I tend to ignore FMs as you can kill them quicker rather tan wait for the animations of the FM. For elites and bosses it is worth while setting a pattern to follow. Leader can set patterns based on ones he has successfully carried out.
A common one we used to use would be 4 Red or 4 Yellow with 2 Blue or Green on the end depending on what the group needed.
The problem I see is... we are not very organised.
When I played EverQuest II, we always had the concept of a 'Main Assist' (MA) for the group. Everybody dealing damage would target them and their hits would go through to the mob that the MA had targeted. In our Wednesday night sessions I've just been targeting Bera and shooting arrows at whoever she has targeted - let me know if I should be doing something else, as group/fellowship discipline is something I'm keen on.
